At our office, we’re always looking for office tools that make our work life easier. They say the best things in life are free. Here is a quick roundup of a few online tools where being free doesn’t sacrifice on quality. Best of all, you won’t get any spam emails since you don’t need to register or sign up to use them.

1) Small PDF – A Solution to all your PDF Problems

Small PDF is one of the best free office tools we’ve seen to date. It’s a website that makes it incredibly easy to convert and edit all your PDF files in one place. There are no file size restrictions, no ad watermarks, and comes in a nicely designed user interface that is easy to use. Some of commonly used features include compress PDF, merge pdf, and split PDF.

2) Icon Works – Icons to Spice Up Your Office Documents

If you are looking for free icons to use in your office documents, check out the selection from Icon Works. The website offers icon fonts are available for download in TTF, EOT, WOFF, and SVG font files. The options allow you to either use the icons for print or web.

3) UnSplash – High Quality Stock Photography

UnSplash provides high-resolution stock photography. What’s different about UnSplash compared with other stock photography websites is that there photography doesn’t look like stock photography at all. Their photos are licensed under Creative Commons Zero, which means you can copy, modify, distribute and use the photos for free. You can even use these high quality photos for commercial purposes without asking permission from or providing attribution to the photographer or Unsplash. They upload 10 new photos every 10 days.

4) VLC Player – Powerful Media Player

Sometimes you just want to quickly share a file with coworkers, client, or vendors without registering or logging into a file sharing website like Dropbox. WeTransfer is a fast and easy way to share files. They will even send you a confirmation email once the recipient downloads the files.

6) Way Back Machine – Internet Archive to Your Corporate Website

What happens when you need to reference an old webpage of your corporate website but you don’t have an internal record of it? Way back machine houses a digital archive of websites around the world by taking snapshots periodically. It’s also a fun way to see how far your corporate website has progressed through the evolution of the Internet.
